5 Interesting Facts About Ayodhya's Sri Ram Mandir

1.      Largest Temple in India- As per its design structure, Ayodhya Sri Ram Mandir is going to be the largest temple in India. According to the Sompura Family who designed the temple’s structure, the height of the temple would be approximately 161 feet along with 28,000 square feet of area.

2.      No use of iron & steel in construction- According to many sources, no steel or iron will be used in the making of the Sri Ram Mandir. The mandir will be completely made up of stones and instead of iron, elements like copper, White Cement, and wood will be used.

3.      Special Bricks to be used for construction- To build the temple, bricks especially inscribes as “Sri Ram” will be used for construction. Some of these bricks are old and have not been used for more than 30 years, and hence are also called “Ram Shilas”.

4.      Unique features in Temple design- The temple will be three- stories with a height of 128 feet, where the ground floor of the temple will be depicting the life events of Prabhu Sri Ram, the story about his birth and childhood and the first floor will be depicting the “Ram Darbaar.”

5.      Time Capsule below the Temple- According to the sources, the authorities will be placing a time capsule 2000 feet below the ground right below the temple. The main purpose of placing a time capsule is to protect the identity of the temple so that it isn’t forgetten in the future.

For Sri Ram’s devotees, Ayodhya is significant to Prabhu Sri Ram, whose life was based on certain principles and ideals. Prabhu Sri Ram is recognized in different forms in Ayodhya, some worship him in his infant form as Ram Lalla, for some, he is like a son to mothers, and a friend to the youth. Everyone worships him in their own way, and for once the devotees should definitely visit Ayodhya in their life.

The construction of Ayodhya Sri Ram Mandir is happening on the ground site where Prabhu Sri Ram had taken birth.

The construction of the Mandir is being overseen by “Sri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust”.

The Mandir is being built from the contributions made by millions of devotees of Sri Ram & it shall be open for Darshan from January 2024.
